Ya know we love our Gyros!

One of my favorite foods is a Gyros.

I remember getting a gyro from a shop on the Manly Corso in Australia.

Add some Tzatziki and hot sauce. Yummmm.

Well the test kitchen is alive tonight with a new Gyros grill!

By the way this can also be done on a grill with a rotisserie.

Or in January, you can come to our new shop and buy one. (**Hint, hint**)

Check out this quick 8 step recipe to make your very own meatless gyro!

  • 1 pound of Beyond Beef

  • 1 pound of Beyond Sausage spicy Italian

  • 1 medium size, red onion

  • 2 cloves of garlic

  • 2 grams of cumin

  • 4 grams of mint

  • 2 grams of rosemary

  • 4 grams of oregano

  • 2 grams of black pepper

  • 2 grams of clove powder

  • 2 grams of coriander

  • 2 grams of cinnamon

  • 4 grams of lemon zest

Recommended Tools:

  • Robocoup; for blending ingredients

  • Plastic wrap

  • Skewer & holders

  • Rotisserie or grill with rotisserie

Alright, let's get cookin'!

Step one: Remove the sausage casing and mix with the beef.

Step two: Add a finely chopped medium size red onion, cloves of fresh garlic, cumin, mint, rosemary, oregano, black pepper, clove powder, coriander, cinamon, and lemon zest.

Step three: Blend all the ingredients together thoroughly, we suggest using Robocoup.

Step four: Place the mixture on a large square of plastic wrap, rolled and formed into a chub (small log).

Step five: With plastic still on the formed chub, pass the skewer through the center and place skewer holders into the chub.

Step six: Set in the Freezer for 60 minutes.

(Outside will be solid, inside is soft. This helps keep shape.)

Step seven: Remove from freezer, remove from skewer and remove film. Replace skewer and holders.

Step eight: Place chub onto rotisserie and bake.

I start the vertical rotisserie on 300 degrees Fahrenheit to get the outside to crisp and keep shape.
